The insurance Industry Promised they would be ready for ICD-10. What happened?

Dear Providers,

As the first month of ICD-10 use has gone into effect, we see that the insurance industry is not fully ready to accept and process claims for both ICD-9 and ICD-10 depending on the date of service of the claims. Unfortunately, we have to report that several insurances have had technical difficulties accepting claims in October with ICD-9 with date of service before October 1, and with ICD-10 with date of service after October 1. Your claims might be affected by this technical error, and payments might be delayed from insurances companies listed below:

  • Horizon BCBS of NJ
  • Horizon Mercy
  • Amerigroup
  • Wellcare
  • Affinity
  • Metroplus
  • Value Option
  • Magnacare

Although WCH cannot fix their technical problems,  we will  monitor and make sure that all submitted claims will be on file and processed as soon as possible.
