Meet WCH: Credentialing Specialist Julia Ponamareva

WCH Credentialing Specialist Julia Ponamareva enjoys investigating difficult cases to find resolution.  “Everyday challenges give me invaluable experience,” says Julia, who never accepts negative decision from insurance companies, as a final.

Julia joined WCH in late Spring of 2016 after working as an assistant in “Work Abroad Programs”. As a part of WCH Credentialing team, that serves and supports multispecialty providers and group practices, she does whatever it takes to achieve quick and positive results. Julia's responsibilities include wide range of different processes from obtaining NPI numbers for doctors and group practices to negotiating contract terms and fees.

"From the first day, I feel I'm growing as an expert," Julia says, "for example, once I had to investigate the opening of a new PC in Delaware, and I had about 20 minutes to do it’.

For Julia, the appeals and negotiation processing is the most interesting and challenging. "You have to put all efforts, attach supporting documents and provide good arguments to prove that the medical provider or group practice must be accepted into the network , despite the fact the panel is closed, or to prove that the provider is entitled to get higher rates under the current contract”.

Julia plans to take an exam to become certified credentialing specialist through NAMSS, which requires at least three years of experience.  In her less than a year and a half with WCH, she already understands the credentialing process, rules and regulations of different insurance organizations as well as the complex provider credentialing requirements and does not stop learning more.

“I am inclined to think that competent distribution of work helps me to overpass all obstacles,” says Julia.

“Julia shows incredible results, she can handle complicated cases and clients trust her,” says Credentialing Department Supervisor Anastasia Yusupova.

Julia is thankful to WCH team, which helps her and supports from the very first step in the company.  “I would like to express special thanks to my teacher and tutor Olga Khabinskay” says Julia, “She always taught to fight till the very end and achieve the best results.

Julia likes traveling and already visited Austria, Italy, Germany and Turkey. She also enjoys dancing, drawing and reading. She is interested in fashion tendencies and cinematography
