Meet Account Representative and Biller Timur Miftahutdinov

WCH Account Representative and Biller Timur Miftahutdinov is quick, accurate and responsive. “I don’t like to postpone anything I can accomplish today,” says Timur, who processes an impressive number of claims every day and has resolved several challenging cases in his less than a year and a half with WCH.

Timur joined WCH in December 2015. With a degree in economics, and experience working in business development, sales, and finance, he was ready to master the challenges of healthcare billing.

“I am always looking to develop new skills, learn and grow,” says Timur. “I couldn’t ask for a better environment to do that than WCH. Here, I’m multitasking, learning from and interacting with team members, and communicating with providers.”

“I learn something new every day,” says Timur, who supports behavioral health, physical and occupational therapy and diagnostic imaging specialties. He handles billing, collecting, posting EOBs, preparing invoices and other related issues. He also works with another account executive on billing for five-six additional practices.

“My supervisors encourage me to take on new challenges, tackle the technical billing aspects, and gain more experience so I can keep working faster to help more clients. I’ve learned to learn quickly and keep up so doctors can keep up.”

“Timur provides a very valuable client service,” says Billing Supervisor Elvira Kasimova. “He never says no and is always ready to help. Recently, when an insurer claimed they hadn’t received multiple claims for processing, Timur researched the situation, created a mass appeal, generated proof of WCH’s original timely submission, and resubmitted everything for full payment.”

His most challenging task involved checking the status of more than 2,000 claims in less than two weeks for a large client who had an impending termination date for reimbursement. With only six months of experience, Timur worked with several insurance web portals, determined claim status, posted payments and fixed denied claims with time to spare.

“Most billers check 180-200 claims a day, which is 900-1,000 per week,” says Elvira. “He completed 1,850 in one week with an impressive level of quality.”

His patient billing work is equally impressive. “Effective communication with providers is very important to ensure patient bills are accurate,” says Elvira. “Timur is particularly good at this, and practically 100 percent of the bills he submits are processed smoothly.”

Positive feedback from clients is Timur’s greatest reward. “Recently, one doctor commended me on my patient billing statistics,” he recalls. “Doctors also appreciate responsiveness and support. Working on Sundays helps me reach clients who work at hospitals on the weekend. I like helping them and answering questions about their work and practices.”

For the past three months, Timur has been studying for the Certified Professional Coder exam, which he will take this summer.

Besides billing, his passions include music, sports and cooking. His large collection of vinyl records includes rock, jazz, easy listening and classical. Timur played basketball, hockey and soccer in school, and continues to play stickball, which is similar to baseball, two times a week. His favorite teams are the Philadelphia 76ers (basketball), Tottenham Hotspurs (soccer) and Detroit Red Wings (hockey).

Timur’s drive to learn extends to cooking. He especially likes Chef Jamie Oliver’s cookbooks, and recreates many of his Mediterranean and seafood dishes, as well as traditional Russian favorites.
