Meet IT Department Manager Ilya Mirolyubov

WCH Information Technology (IT) Department Manager Ilya Mirolyubov is an agent of change, keeping up with and overseeing strategic planning and IT performance for two perpetually evolving industries— healthcare and technology.  “It’s very interesting,” says Ilya. “Every day there is something new to learn, create, adapt and implement to support our office, business and healthcare clients.”

Ilya, who joined WCH in 2009 as a database administrator, is now responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s IT strategic plan, approving and monitoring major projects, and training and allocating IT resources to ensure his team delivers consistently excellent service both to WCH departments and to clients.

He says the most challenging aspect of his job is keeping up-to-date with information technology advances so his team can develop the most user-friendly systems and software to help healthcare providers work more accurately and efficiently.

Ilya has a bachelor’s degree in automation of production processes, a certificate in HIPAA compliance from Medgar Evers College in New York City, and he has completed Microsoft certified training courses in systems administration and visual studio. He is also constantly learning new information from daily IT news emails and other industry resources.

As for the healthcare aspect of his job, he enjoys developing and supporting HIPAA-compliant applications for WCH’s Patient Management Billing Operating System (PMBOS), iSmart Electronic Health Record and other evolving technologies.

“We are always talking to clients, and helping them get comfortable with their office’s technology so they can take advantage of WCH’s practice management and billing programs,” says Ilya. “When healthcare providers call the Help Desk asking for additional features, such as a new report that shows them particular data, we log their requests. IT programs are never finished. We are always adding new features.”

After work, Ilya spends all of his time with his wife and five-year-old son. “With him, it’s something new every day, too,” says Ilya. They spend a lot of time outside. Last summer, Ilya taught him how to ride a bicycle. They also swim, drive small remote cars and go to the zoo.
