Please specify the number of total measures that an eligible professional must report if he/she has special status in MIPS.

Question

Please specify the number of total measures, activities, or entire categories that an eligible professional must report if he/she has special status in MIPS.

Answer provided by the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Help Desk:

There are two different ways to report performance data this year -the test option and the partial option. If Eligible professional (EP) decided to do the test it is just one quality measure, one patient, one visit for the year. EP will not get a negative payment adjustment in 2019 by doing this option.
The other is the partial option and that is 90 days of reporting. EP will have to choose six quality measures one of which needs to be an outcome or a high priority measure. EP will have to report on the Improvement Activities either two medium weighted or one high weighted if the group practice of 15 or less. If the group practice of 16 or more, then four Improvement Activities must be reported. The ACI Category will be re-weighted for small practice and non-patient facing.
